Bali's little sibling, Lombok, is sometimes an overlooked surf spot for many people visiting the archipelago for the first time. But, as many seasoned surf travelers will tell you, Lombok has A LOT to offer. Generally warmer than Bali, with far fewer crowds, Lombok offers raw beauty and an unparalleled surf experience.

From reef breaks to beach breaks and everything in between, Lombok will get your stoke in overdrive. Most of the surf spots in Lombok are located in the South, where Kura Kura is located (luckily!). We get consistent swell all year round, with bigger swells in the dry season (May - September). The wet season also has a lot of fun surf spots on tap with cleaner conditions (typically less wind for the south-facing beaches) from October through April.

A quick trip in the car followed by the occasional boat hop will get you access to some of the most consistent waves in the Indian Ocean.

Located in the midst of Karimunjawa Archipelago and offering one of the largest lagoons in the area, Menjawakan is a very green, private tropical island 22 hectares large of extraordinary beauty which is exclusively occupied by Kura Kura Resort.

Situated between Java and Borneo and still unknown to mass tourism, Karimunjawa Archipelago is a National Marine Park composed of 27 islands that still offer the feeling of natural and remote beauty. By enhancing the natural beauty of the island with a passion for authenticity and attention to the smallest details, Kura Kura Resort offers 18 spacious and luxurious Pool Villas (320 sq mt), including 2 family Pool Villas (600 sq mt) settled among the beautiful Royal palm trees, and 15 Seaview Cottages.

Pool Villas have been designed with full respect for nature, embracing the influence of an Indonesian Villa concept, together with a blend of contemporary and elegant style. Each Pool Villa has not only been designed and built with the utmost attention to detail but are also environmentally friendly, maintaining the beautiful Royal palm trees inside the Pool Villa garden.

Cottages are divided into Deluxe and Superior, all of them with a blend of Asian/contemporary taste and offering a gorgeous view over the beautiful lagoon.

Resort facilities are constantly upgraded, such as new landscaping, a water purification treatment system and our several speed boats with 2 engines for transportation and excursions, plus the charming and elegant "Elisabeth" Grand Banks boat is at our guests' disposal to enjoy the various excursions. The Restaurant offers a delicious dining menu à la carte with a wide choice of Asian Menu and seafood in Mediterranean style.

Recent additions include: the Sunset Lounge and Blue Bar on the Eastern Beach, the Spa, besides the unique and exclusive Krakal Extension (please find more info about Krakal Extension on the Castaway section), Gym Club and Volleyball Court are at our Guests' disposal.

Restaurant

Kura Kura Resort Restaurant welcomes you in an elegant atmosphere with its open dining section around the pool by mixing a blend of contemporary style and tradition with touches of local taste and elegance in its furniture and materials.

Our Restaurant specializes in local seafood - freshly caught lobster, prawns and fish bought directly from the fishing boats each morning. Our Chefs are at your disposal to cater to your individual desires and to create culinary masterpieces using the best fresh local products.

Our Menu offers a wide variety of dishes with 'a' la carte' choice, ranging from Mediterranean-style fine cuisine to Indonesian dishes. Guests can choose whether to have their fine meals inside the intimacy of the restaurant, on the open patio, or in the romantic setting of the tables surrounding the pool.

Besides your meals, you can enjoy our fabulous drinks in different spots; at the main Bar around the Pool, at the Blue Bar located at the end of the Eastern Beach (sunrise side) where you can enjoy your favorite drink under the shade of the Palm trees or in your comfortable double sun beds in front of the sea, or in the stunning Sunset Lounge located on the western side, where you can sip your cocktails admiring the spectacular Sunsets that this Paradise Island offers you.

Activities

We arrange daily diving and snorkeling trips to the best coral reefs around Karimunjawa Islands. The locations are suitable for all levels of divers and snorkellers. Dive courses and trial dives are available daily.

We also arrange daily excursions to the surrounding paradise islands to enjoy the stunning beaches of the beautiful Karimunjawa Archipelago and its snorkeling on some of the best reefs in the marine park area. Dolphins riding along the cruise is a familiar scene. Private charters are available.
