Due to the unique combination of the pure nature of the Alentejo region, generous hospitality of locals, magical Portuguese cuisine, and various surf spots for every surf level, Milfontes can be described as the best surf destination in Portugal.
We are surfing in a few different surf spots depending on the forecast and your surf skills: the beach of São Torpes, the beaches of Porto Covo, Aivados beach & Malhão beach. Our part of the Alentejo coastline is unique as we can provide a good surf experience for surfers of different levels, from beginners to advanced, on the same beach.
The best time to come to surf in Alentejo is definitely from September till the end of October, when the swell is constant, strong enough, but not too big. We advise Intermediate and Advanced surfers to avoid coming in the summer months as it is unpredictable with the forecast and usually it is too windy.
For beginners, the best time to visit Alentejo is from March to October. For intermediate surfers, from March until May and from September-October and for advanced surfers, the best time is from September to March.
If you are looking for accommodation in Vila Nova de Milfontes, stay in our Surf House. It is located in a quiet rural area close by to all the main attractions: beautiful Milfontes with its sightseeing and Malhao beach. Built-in traditional Portuguese style, the House is spacy and comfortable. Our cozy sunny backyard is inviting for morning yoga sessions and chilling in the hammock after surfing.
There are two double rooms, light and stylish, perfect for couples and families and one shared room with a capacity of 6 people.
Breakfast is included in your stay and is served every morning on our patio, but you can always use our fully equipped kitchen for cooking and storing things. Besides our chilling patio, you can also use the lounge with TV and bookshelves for your homelike evenings.

Yoga
In our Surf Camp, we know how yoga helps to improve your surf skills. It helps to make your body stronger and more flexible at the same time, helping to relax after an intensive surf session. We offer you an opportunity to join daily yoga sessions according to the camp schedule - 30-minutes waking up morning session or relaxing stretching session in the evening (max 4 sessions per one week).
Each class consists of gentle warming up, the practice of basic or more advanced asanas, and final stretching and relaxation. There is no need for previous experience, although some knowledge of yoga is welcomed. There are several variations for each level of experience, so do not worry if you are starting.
It is more than just a Surf Camp - we are doing our best to create a Family. We live at the same house where you will be staying, we share breakfast with you, we spend the whole day with you, we share our experience and knowledge with you and we finish the day with you, no matter if it is dinner in the house or a glass of wine in the bar.
Sergio is our surf boss: he is 100% Portuguese, with over 20 years of experience, including 13 years of direct surf training - thanks to his expertise and knowledge of every surf spot around, we can guarantee a unique surf experience, surfing best surf spots and quick, motivating progress in just one week.
