Nexo Surfhouse

The spring season, which usually brings gentle waves and sunny weather, is ideal for those beginners who are afraid to experience the cold water and weather; they will be able to surf on the white waves, which are also very good for intermediates. These can also enjoy the “affordable” green waves at peak timing. It is the longest Surfcamp Season.

During summer, waves are perfect for beginners, kids and paddleboards. It is the time when terminal winds are coming from the west, which means early morning or late evening surfing for those intermediate surfers (there is also cool temperatures), and easy waves for beginners during the midday when it is warmer.

The autumn season is very good due to the combination of both waves and weather. Waves are coming strong from the northwest as we move away from the summer and beginners can stay in the white waves and intermediate and advanced surfers can practice in the green waves.

The Winter season is prime time for those who care more about a powerful swell and don’t really mind the weather. Near uncrowded spots such as Yerbabuena, Los Caños, Tarifa,… are perfect to be explored. No need to bring your own equipment. Here you can rent from a varied quiver of NEXO Surfboards you can change according to the waves in your chosen spots and your necessities, and wetsuits. If you want to take classes, just let us know.

NEXO Surfhouse is located just 300m from the beach. Please, "forget" your car in our free parking as soon as you arrive and walk to the beach, to anywhere in El Palmar or to Trafalgar lighthouse. Let yourself be carried by the paths in El Palmar and enjoy the countryside-beach environment, so typical of the coast of Cádiz. The point is to disconnect and feel yourself here.

Our large garden space offers plenty of room for everyone to find a quiet spot in a hammock with garden views or to sit and chat in a group with family and friends over a cold drink from the honesty bar. Our spacious lounge is where we have fun: talks, guitars, ukuleles, singing, board games, films and surf documentaries are just some of the activities we arrange to amuse ourselves. Guests can learn to walk the 'Slack-line', improve their balance on the 'Indorboard', play Table Tennis, Volleyball, or Badminton.

When coming on your own, with friends, a couple or family, we have the perfect room for you. We will recommend the room that best fits your needs.

There are different kinds of rooms so you can choose the one that best fits your needs when coming with your partner, friends or on your own. All rooms have a private bathroom and are fully equipped for the beach lifestyle. Daily cleaning service.

Surfcamp

Surfcamp season happens between Spring and Autumn, with daily activities of surf, yoga, massages, full board with one day off to explore the surroundings of La Costa de La Luz, dinner out, special barbeque night, everything organized for you to spend a very special and nice beach holidays with family, friends and when coming by your own, always feeling accompanied.

We are flexible in your arrival and departure dates, so let us know to start planning your trip. We can organize a transfer from the airport if needed or we'll advise you on the best way to get here. If you have food allergies, we will cater to your needs.

Children of all ages are welcome here and we do everything we can to make their stay as comfortable as possible. Tell us what you need, and we will do all we can to accommodate you.

Surf

Learning to surf. Learning to surf better.

Whether it's your first time or you've been surfing forever, we love teaching people how to surf and how to become better surfers. Our highly experienced professional team of surf instructors will introduce you to surfing step by step, guide you to correct your flaws and help you improve your maneuvers. Above all they will teach you how to stay safe in the water and should any accidents occur, are qualified to administer any First Aid that may be required quickly.

The surf school has its own building, also with space to shower and change before and after each surf session. Surfers meeting and groups are made according to surfing level. Then, the surf instructors will ask you what skills you want to improve and if you have any fears or goals in mind. Wetsuits and surfboards are assigned to use during the whole stay, whenever wished. And for intermediate and experienced surfers, there is a wide quiver of NEXO Surfboards to be used in the test center.

The timing of the classes is decided according to the tide, wind conditions and the beach we will choose and you can check it in the daily plan, with the rest of the activities, during dinner of the previous day. Surf classes last for 2h and are given in small groups of 6 people each. Two theory classes and one video analysis session are also provided for one week to understand the ocean better. In this area, we are and check everyone's improvements along the way. And as NEXO Surfhouse is only 300m from the beach, there we go walking with the ocean view in the horizon.

Yoga

When we practice yoga before surfing, we focus on Asanas, strengthening the mind and body in preparation for the surf lesson; building muscle strength is important when facing the challenge of larger waves. Surfing can be tough sometimes. After surfing, our Yoga sessions focus on stretching and relaxing the body and mind. Meditation sessions and massages are also available to book.

Yoga sessions suitable to all are offered every day, and even when there are five classes included in one week package, you can take extra classes for a bit more. The 75min yoga classes are given in the outdoor yoga platform or, if it is getting chilly, in the big yoga house, both of them surrounded by the garden. All material is provided, with mattress, blocks, bolsters, belts and blankets.

Food

Professional chefs work in our kitchen with the best local and seasonal products that this area offers, ensuring our success. Enjoy healthy breakfasts, amazing buffet lunches and evening meals with vegetarian and vegan options and in which we consider any food allergies or intolerances you might have.

We offer a super nice and varied breakfast with fresh orange juice, yogurt, fruit, muesli and cereals, several kinds of bread, butter, cheese, ham,… coffee and tea with different kinds of milk, which awakens all of our senses to start the day. Lunch and dinner take place in big common tables to share nice conversations and get to know us better. A free fruit, coffee and tea station is offered throughout the day and you can always find beer, soft drinks and juices in our Honesty Bar.

Massages

For the pleasure of having a professional, relaxing massage or for taking care of those little muscle pains after some surf and yoga sessions, taking care of yourself with a massage is always a good option. There is a wooden cottage in the garden offering the needed privacy and comfort you need.

If you choose the Wellness package, you will enjoy a 45min massage with natural essences and personalized oils, working on your back and neck with craniosacral technique and your chakras rebalancing with magnets.

And everyone can always get a 30min massage of certain body areas or a complete massage of 60min for general relaxation.

Every week during the Surfcamp Season, there is one night to enjoy what El Palmar has to offer and a whole day off to explore the Cadiz and the white villages of La Costa de La Luz, such as Tarifa, Conil or Vejer de la Frontera.
