We have great waves all year round, either at Manzanillo Bay or the many surrounding spots in the area. For more advanced surfers, April through September is best as the Spring and Summer swells fill the central Pacific coast of Mexico. For less experienced surfers, La Saladita has smooth, calm waves year-round – just a 15 min drive from The Inn.
Our rooms speak of comfort & relaxation while maintaining local Mexican charm. Connect with natural surroundings, feel warm ocean breezes & let the waves lull you to sleep.
Mornings greet you with spectacular sunrises over the mountains, freshly brewed coffee, and tasty homemade breakfasts. Evenings afford breathtaking sunsets over the Pacific with you in a front row seat, cold Margarita in your hand and of course, our amazing dinner menu to choose from.
All Suites are furnished with hand-crafted Mexican details and have air conditioning, free wifi, designer soaps & lotions, hairdryers, private patios, and bath & beach towels.
The Terrace restaurant
The Inn’s Terrace Restaurant features a menu of local and international specialties. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you’re always in for a special treat.
Our culinary academy-trained chef works with local talents to create favorites like the “Surfer’s Special” breakfast, Baja-style fish tacos, grilled ahi tuna sandwiches, coconut-crusted prawns, tequila-glazed pan-seared pork chops and much more…
Try our famous top-shelf “Big Boy” margarita or any of our chilled libations as a perfect start to a great meal or an ideal end to another day in paradise.
Activities
With world-class wave steps from your suite and many more nearby, surfing is a popular pastime. Need to unwind? Enjoy a relaxing massage on your private patio or a yoga session on our beachfront deck. Not a surfer? – Try Mexico’s best sport fishing or a round of golf at one of Ixtapa’s championship courses. And for getting around Troncones, try renting a bike, a horse or a kayak through a local estuary.
I’m originally from San Francisco, CA, but I grew up in Troncones, Mexico. With the beach being a part of my everyday life as a kid, I quickly developed a passion for surfing. Shortly after turning 18, I moved back to California, where I kept surfing as I went to college.
Upon receiving my business degree, I returned to Mexico and searched for full-time jobs back in the States. At the time, my father (who built The Inn) was close to retirement and invited me to take over the hotel. While I didn’t know a lot about the hospitality industry, it seemed like the perfect fit considering that it would allow me to further develop my business skills in the place I loved most.
Situated on the pristine Central Pacific Coast of Mexico, steps away from a world-class surf break in a private bay, The Inn at Manzanillo Bay prides itself in providing the best of what Troncones offers. Since we opened 23 years ago, we’ve made incredible progress allowing us to become the most exclusive boutique hotel in the area. Those looking for an authentic off-the-beaten-path experience will find it here. Combining the many outdoor experiences with no compromise on luxury, comfort, and great food, our unique boutique hotel is not to be missed.
Sustainability & community
The Inn is involved in several community and sustainability projects. We are a sponsor of “Las Hermanas de Troncones” foundation, through which we host an annual fundraising event to improve the local elementary school of Troncones. We also make yearly donations to “Troncones Limpio” - the organization that manages the local recycling program and raises awareness of the importance of recycling.
