The wave breaks year-round with larger swells, starting in April and continuing through the north hemisphere summer. This is an ideal time to visit because swells are more consistent and the lineup is less crowded - if you can handle the bigger surf, rain and heat!
For those who like the cooler temperatures, clean and consistent knee to shoulder/head high waves occur in the high season, which runs from October through April.
Mid-December to mid-January is when the waves are the smallest yet very fun, clean, and consistent - ideal for beginners and longboarders in the knee-to-waist-high club. If you are an advanced surfer, we do venture to unmarked locations for a change of scenery at this time, but I recommend spring/summer as an alternative.
Welcome to surf paradise. Check into your surf villa and walk out front to see perfect waves peeling down the point at Saladita. The trip is all about surfing!
Wake up early, check the surf, see if you're feeling like long lefts. If you'd like, we can hop in the car or boat and go find other types of waves as well. There are barreling beach breaks and long right points. Surf all morning, come in, have a coffee and breakfast, then right back out!
If you're interested in other activities, we can also explore the area. We can get a boat to go fishing or explore the beautiful coastline or drive to go hiking to waterfalls and hot springs, a must-do in the area.
Saladita is a tiny little surf town on the beach with a couple of small restaurants and bars, such as Jovita y Pancho a great option with a surf vibe with a delicious menu including burgers, fish tacos, and other local dishes.
In Saladita, if you need help arranging accommodations, we can assist you. We suggest Casa del Surfista as lodging option.
Casa del Surfista is a unique and elegant home designed and built by local artist and architect Gustavo Jasso. Gustavo's use of organic materials and tropical style has turned our property into a relaxing, comfortable getaway. The house, is sited on 1.5 acres with 330 feet of oceanfront. The walled property affords incredible privacy.
The main palapa is open air and includes two living rooms, two baths and a dining room and kitchen. The pool wraps around the lower living area. There is a huge bedroom loft above with its own bath. The loft has 3 kings. We have a bedroom nook off of the living room with its own bath. We have a separate one room cabana that sleeps six and has air conditioning.
Our home has one and a half acres of land and has 330 feet of beachfront in La Saladitas. It is extremely quiet and private with a wall around the entire property. Most days you will be the only one on the beach. We have created a private beach around the pool area as well.
La Saladitas is a great place for surfing. We are one mile to the well known break La Saladitas (aka the wave machine) claiming the longest lefts in Mexico. Twenty minutes away is The Ranch.
We have onsite caretaker named Paty that lives on property, and can be hired to prepare meals.
