The surf
Hossegor is one of the most consistent surf breaks in France. The best time for surf is between May and October, when the winter swell and spring tides calm down and the water is warmer. From September to October, the waves start getting bigger and there are fewer crowds.
La Gravière Beach is an internationally renowned location where the World Championship of Surfing takes place each year. The surf school's hut is located on the beach, facing the ocean and waves! Spots for all levels, from beginner to expert.
If you are looking for big barrels, the time to visit is between November and April. This season is best suited for advanced surfers, as it will require more paddling.

Arnaud learned to surf on the beaches of Hossegor at the age of 10. His career as a competitor, his STAPS master's degree, and his 2nd degree State Certificate make him one of the best coaches in the region. He also trains all the young hopefuls of the Landes.
