June to August is the best season for beginners surfers with smaller and easy waves that are perfect to start learning to surf, but waves are still fun enough also for experienced surfers with the random bigger summer swell.
September to November and March to May are the best months with less crowd, good waves, and little wind. During this month's beginners and experts will both find waves suitable for their level.
December to February is the big waves season, and not many days are suitable for beginners (but we still try our best to find the right location to give surf lessons). These months are the best for experienced surfers looking to surf big waves.
Chill in Ericeira Surfhouse has the best view of Ericeira. From the windows of the rooms, you can see the village, beautiful sunsets and some of the best surf spots, like Foz do Lizandro, Pico do Futuro, Praia do Sul and Praia do Algodio, as well as the western point of Europe, Cabo da Roca.
It is located atop a small hill just above Praia do Sul and a 2-minute walk from the center of the village. Chill in Ericeira Surfhouse is made up of two houses from the 1960s that stand in front of each other, separated by the typical Portuguese cobblestone road. Since 2018, we have a 3rd house around the corner from the original ones.
Surf lessons & surfaris
The main activity we offer is surf lessons and you'll have the chance to start from zero or improve your surfing skills in one of the best surf destinations in the world. Lessons are held on the beach of Foz do Lizandro, a very surf-friendly beach break (sand bottom) that suits all levels. All equipment will be provided (board and wetsuit) and transport to and from the beach is included.
For more experienced surfers, we also offer Surfaris in the many famous and world-class spots around Ericeira: reef breaks, pointbreaks and punchy sandbars. We have them all!
If you wish to surf Peniche, we can organize a day trip for you. Both day trips and surf guiding can be arranged for a minimum of 2 people and we will charge an extra cost.
Touristics excursions & activities
We offer tours to nearby touristic sites such as the Mafra palace, Sintra town (Unesco heritage), Lisbon, Cascais, Obidos, Fatima (religious spot) and Cabo da Roca the western point of Europe.
In the rare flat days or in your free time, you can explore the surrounding coast of Ericeira by having a horse ride excursion. After a few days of surfing, you'll need some more relaxing activities to get back in the water with even more strength.
Around Ericeira, there are some famous golf resorts. If you're an expert player and want to keep up with practicing or if you want to try your first shots, we can organize it.

She's just a real fanatic of watching good surf and one of the most respected persons in the surfing scene of Ericeira. She will take care of all aspects of the accommodation in Chill in Ericeira Surfhouse and make your stay the most comfortable and fun possible….she will also introduce you to the Ericeira nightlife.
