Bahia Surf Camp

Synonymous with surfing and with almost 7,500 kilometers (4,660 miles) of coastline, Brazil has plenty of places to catch some waves. Bahia, an uber-relaxed coastal state in the northeast, has some of the country’s best spots.

Our place is primely located on one of the best reef breaks of the whole north coast. Perfect waves on the south swell days bring reasonably consistent surf.

Seasons

Winter (March - September) is the optimum time of year for surfing here. Offshore winds blow from the WNW. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the optimum swell angle is from the south. There are left and right breaking reefs. Good surf at all stages of the tide. Take care of rocks in the lineup.

Surf coaching

Individual coaching is available by our former pro surfer and CEO Beto Dias. For more experienced students we review and improve some basic points that require attention, direct and guide the development of the necessary techniques to reach the next level to be raised. Surfing at this level varies a lot by person, on the experience they have already and expectations to be achieved.

Surf tours

During the weekly program and according to the conditions of the waves, we offer surf trips to specific beaches that help the preparation of students and their development of techniques. Moreover, in this way, we are providing tours and possibilities of exploration of our coast. We give preference to beaches that are suitable according to the condition of the waves, winds and that are safe, clean, and beautiful.

A perfect day

The perfect day here starts with choosing which spot is suitable for the current conditions, have a healthy fresh breakfast, and head to the water. The break out front is a reef break which works with south swell and the beach break on the side with other swell directions, several spots around make us so happy. Besides surfing, the excellent food from our chef, the environment full-on nature plus dedicated and amazing people as hosts.

Location

Our surf camp is located in Busca Vida, in a gated community on a 7 km private beach. We are by the sea, in a protected environmental area, surrounded by a tropical forest, lagoon, and sand dunes. This special location has restricted access to residents and guests only.

Food

We offer home-cooked, fresh, and lovingly prepared meals. Our recipes always cherish a healthy, light preparation with fresh and natural ingredients. We also adapt our menu for vegetarians, vegans, and people with other diet restrictions. Located in the center of the camp, the dining area is where we serve all the meals. This area is also our hub for information and the place we most like to sit for a drink and chat!

Rooms

Our camp accommodates a maximum of 20 persons divided into our 9 suites. Every room is equipped with AC, hot showers, and very comfortable beds, wi-fi, and hammocks, so you can enjoy the nights in the best Bahian style. All packages include meals and non-alcoholic drinks.

Activities

There is a range of activities you can enjoy while your stay with us. From specific exercises and techniques for those who want to get serious about surfing waves to special and relaxing places and classes, we offer a variety of activities that will suit every guests' style. You can try skateboarding, book a yoga or pilates lesson, go paddleboard or just read a book in one of our hammocks. We also offer special treatment for people recovering from injuries and our physiotherapist can help with strengthening and other exercises.

Sustainability

We do everything we can to protect nature, starting with the place where we are located which is a private protected reserved zone, with 7km of beach, lake, dunes, and a little piece of Atlantic forest. Our electricity is 100% generated from our solar panels, we recycle the organic food in our composting place and other materials are delivered to the recycling point in our condominium. We also often promote beach cleaning to get plastic from the beach(normally happened when storms bring garbage from the city).

Access to Busca Vida gated community

Once you book your stay, you will be required to fill out a security information form to be granted access through the main gate from 7 am to 9 pm. For guests arriving after that time, a special driver must be booked for an additional fee (paid directly to the driver).
