The surf
Here you can discover secret surf breaks in the Noonu Atoll. All surf breaks are accessible within a 5 to 35-minute speedboat ride. Surf season is dependent on Mother Nature’s mood, but it does peak from May through September. Waves range from waist to head height.
All equipment is eco-friendly and made from recycled materials, making us the first fully sustainable surfing program globally.
We choose not to reveal where our surf locations are, as we hope to keep them pristine, rare, and secret. Come discover them with us!
The lodge
Soneva Jani, the latest edition of the Soneva Family, was designed to maximize the beautiful lagoon’s views around our lodge. All villas have unobstructed water views as well as private pools and open-air bathrooms. Many of them feature slides from the top floor into the water below - fun, no matter which stage of life you are in. Set within the calm waters of a private lagoon in the Noonu Atoll, the resort was made to tread lightly on our precious planet, from the use of environmentally-friendly construction materials and methods to our pioneering sustainable hospitality.
Activities
We count on an incredible spa where you can experience holistic wellness at its height with our blend of the latest cutting-edge therapies combined with ancient and traditional techniques, a safe space for kids (a fun deck, an ice cream room, and a chocolate room) and lots of activities for families.
Guests can explore the constellations with the resident astronomer at the Observatory or watch a classic movie at our over-the-water silent Cinema Paradiso. In addition, they can join the resident Marine Biologist to plant corals, spot dolphins on a sunset cruise, have a sunrise breakfast on a deserted beach, explore the atoll’s best reefs with experienced divemasters or just watch spectacular sunsets from our villas.
A haven for families, there is an ever-changing weekly program of activities and experiences to keep children of all ages entertained. Older children and teens can also learn during their stay with Soneva Academy, which offers a range of fascinating courses.
Dining
Here you will experience incredible gourmet cooking from the hand of Michelin star chefs. Among our dining experiences, you will be able to find all kinds of excellent dishes: Vegan, vegetarian, seafood, international, southeast Asian, and many many more options.
If you are looking for something different, we can customize your dining experience. Some of our options are: -So Engaging: a mystery menu for five very special guests specially designed by our chef; -So Primitive: a visual experience where the centerpiece is a fire pit where different cooking techniques are honored; -So Imaginative: a private room perfect for celebrations where our sommeliers will create inspired wine tastings and wine dinners, selecting the perfect pairings from the wine tower. Available for up to 20 guests.

Sustainability has always been at the heart of Soneva’s ethos, from sustainable sourcing materials and pioneering “waste-to-wealth” practices to partner with our local communities. We are proudly 100% carbon neutral.
Our EcoCentro is the lush green heart of Soneva Jani - it’s here that our talented gardeners cultivate organic fruit, herbs, and veggies for our seasonal menus and nurture an array of native plants species for our landscaping. In addition, we rely on a circular bio-economy at all of our resorts, which reduces landfills and closes the carbon cycle - organic food waste from our kitchens is transformed into rich, nutritious compost.
