Morocco is a year-round outstanding surf holiday destination. We are situated in Tamraght, in between Agadir and Taghazout, where the weather is always warm. Due to its convenient geographical position, it is the best place for surfers to enjoy top waves, sunshine, and warm weather all year long at the shore of the Atlantic Ocean.

Sunshine Surf Morocco is open all year round and it is not for nothing! During the winter months, it is advisable to bring a 4/3 or 3/2 wetsuit. During the summer months, the water is warming up and you should be okay with a summer suit (2/2 or 3/2).

The swell during summer is small to medium (from May to September), but you will still find glassy and bigger waves. During winter, the swells are more consistent and you will find some big sets rolling in. The Moroccan coast is famous for its huge variety of surf. The region has something for everyone, from ideal beginner waves to challenging reef ledges. No one will be disappointed! The sun shines in Morocco for at least 300 days a year. The weather is mild. With a small chance of rain between November and February, although statistically, it is quite unlikely.

The lodge

Sunshine Surf Morocco is situated in the upper hills of Tamraght in Taghazout Bay. A charming village located just a few kilometers north of Agadir with a stunning view of overworld-known surf spots like Anchor Point or Killer Point.

We are blessed to be surrounded by mountains with Argan trees and the Atlantic Ocean, and just a few steps away from 4 great surf spots for all abilities. With a team of experienced, qualified local surf instructors, you can get excited about a fun and surf holiday week in Morocco.

After a warm and sunny day in the sea catching some of the best waves, you can chill and relax on our newly refurbished rooftop, practice yoga, enjoy a beer watching the sunset or go for a stroll around the village. Aside from the surf, we can also provide other activities, like a day trip to the natural pools of Paradise Valley, dune surfing further north, or to the local market of Agadir, where you will experience the local life. So if you’re looking for the perfect surf holiday, our team has it all covered! There is a friendly atmosphere in our surf camp where you will feel at home and at ease from day one!

Shared dorm room - Surf lesson package

Shared rooms are ideal for those who travel solo or on a budget but still want a accommodation, this dorm can welcome up to 6 guests. It has a total of 6 individual beds, of which one is a bunk. As part of your Surf Lesson package, you have six lessons of 2 hours each. This includes the use of all surf equipment (wetsuit, board, and leash). We usually divide groups according to their level and surf ability. We want to offer the best guest surf experience, but safety first! Our international team is fully involved in ensuring you improve your surf skills, whether it’s learning to do the take-off or riding your first green waves. The lesson will begin with some theory, safety, and surf rules on the beach and a brief warm-up before heading out to the surf. **There is a minimum of a 7-night stay on Surf lesson package. Our Surf Guiding package is recommended for intermediate to advanced surfers. Basically, for all those looking to surf our world-renowned right-handers that Morocco has on offer! Surf Guiding is usually with surf camp founder Reda who will ensure you are at the right spot at the right time. The Taghazout area has many mind-blowing surf spots, but they can change drastically within a few hours! This package goes to the rhythm of the tides and the schedule will be condition dependant. However, as passionate surfers and travelers, we want you to make the most of your surf trip. Hence, our Surf Guiding package remains flexible. Whether it’s North or South and anywhere in between, we want you to surf till you drop! **There is a minimum of a 7-night stay on the surf guiding package. As part of your Surf and Yoga package, you have six surf lessons of 2 hours each and a yoga lesson a day of around 1hour. This includes the use of all surf and yoga equipment. Yoga and surfing have long gone hand in hand, with many professional surfers using yoga to help improve their flexibility, core strength, and surfing performance. So if you feel like you could do with a bit of stretching after a long day surfing, Yoga is a fantastic way to improve your flexibility and strengthen your body. **Surf lessons** We usually divide groups according to their level and surf ability. We are a group of passionate people trying to make the best of our guest's experiences. We want to show the best of our culture and take our guests to the most amazing waves. Our team will make sure that you have unforgettable days in Morocco.

Reda is a local Moroccan surfer who is passionate about the ocean. Addicted to surf, spearfishing, and anything that involves the sea and nature, he used to be a professional surfer and for a few years traveling the world representing his country in the bodyboarding team. After coping with office jobs for a few years, Reda decided to pursue his dreams and set up a surf camp with the help of his staff in Taghazout Bay to share his passion and Morocco’s magical waves with guests from all over the world.

Our marketing and business development lead is Irene, who traveled to Morocco in 2015 for a short surf holiday and never left. She’s been in Taghazout ever since and has recently joined the team as a hostess as well. This young Basque lady is a passionate surfer and longboarder.

We have a great team taking care of Sunshine Morocco and that will make sure you have the best time enjoying your days with all the best. Ali, the Chef, has been part of the team for years now, and he will delight you with some of the best local traditional cuisine (do not miss his couscous on Friday, it’s a must!). Saida is a young and dynamic Berbere girl. She will make sure the cleaning is perfect and that maintenance is assured. Her smile will enlighten you and she will provide you with great service during your stay. Mehdi recently joined the team as a surf instructor. He will share with you some of the best surf spots for your abilities, along with laughs, smiles, and a few secret spots.
