The surf
Bocas del Toro, Panama, has two surf seasons, the first one being from December and running until April. The biggest and most powerful swells come in December and January. At this time of year, crowds can get bigger as tourism's peak season is also during this period. February and March also see consistent swell with sunnier weather and fewer crowds. April is considered a transition month that sees smaller swells more suited for the beach breaks.
The second surf season is during June, July, and August. July sees just as much swell as December and January. June and August traditionally have smaller waves and are great months to surf the beach breaks with the occasional good reef break swell. One of the great things about surfing in Bocas is the variety of waves within a short distance.

On the main island of the Panamanian archipelago, Selina Bocas del Toro is easily accessible, being in front of the beach, 500 meters from the airport. Our property is surrounded by hundreds of islands where you can enjoy biodiversity and marine life with snorkeling, diving, and kayaking tours near Bocas Marina and Isla Carenero.
There are animal sanctuaries, such as the Bocas Butterfly Garden or the Bolivar National Park, just 3 minutes away.
Our coworking space overlooks the pier and has natural light and irresistible seats that guarantee comfort and inspiration when working away from the city. On your way out, break out your mat for a yoga class on the deck and end the day with a round of drinks and great dance music at the poolside bar.
Explore
Selina Bocas del Toro is at the epicenter of things to do in Bocas del Toro. You can spend the day touring the island or diving. Bocas del Toro offers endless surf options for both beginners and experienced surfers. If you have a board, bring it. If you don't, you can rent surf equipment at the Selina Surf Club. We'll show you some of our favorite hidden beaches with different break spots to satisfy any surfer. Need a break from the waves and wondering what to do in Bocas del Toro? Sign up for a trip to Cayo Zapatilla to explore the mangroves. Or, you can hike through the jungle to secluded Playa Polo and admire some of the native species that only grow on the island.
Pack your snorkel to explore below the surface of the crystal clear blue waters of Isla Colón. At night enjoy live music at The Playground, then head to Bocas Town for some beer or rum and some reggae dancing. From Bocas del Toro, Isla Colón, Panama, you can take advantage of what life offers you.
