The surf
Tofino, Canada's Surf Capital, offers year-round surfing on 22 miles of sandy beaches with world-class waves. Whether you're a beginner or a pro, Tofino has a thriving surfing community. Water temperature stays cool (10C/50F), so wetsuits are a must.
- Spring (Mar-May): Larger NW swells and southern swells, perfect for intermediates.
- Summer (Jun-Aug): Sunshine, smaller waves, ideal for beginners. Busier but not crowded.
- Fall (Sep-Nov): Best season with 10+ ft swells, warm water, offshore winds. Surf events held.
- Winter (Dec-Mar): Gets really big. Can include wild 20-30 ft waves, offshore winds, uncrowded lineups. Best for seasoned surfers.

You will be our number 1 priority It may sound cheesy and pretty simple, but it’s true! Our guests in the shop and in the water are our absolute number one priority. Our staff is carefully hand-picked and trained to make sure that your customer service experience with us was the best it possibly could be. You’ll leave feeling like you’ve got friends to come back and say hi to next time you’re in town!
All of our instructors teach with us because they have a deep love for the ocean, surfing, and sharing this passion with the world. They come to us from many walks of life, each bringing their own flair to the team. More importantly, all of our instructors are First Aid, CPR-C, and Bronze Cross certified - meaning your safety is put ahead of all else.
We are so excited to get you out in the water and progressing your surf skill - whatever it may be! But it is also so much more than that for us. Our mission statement is based on the idea that everyone deserves a chance to experience to the ocean, so we work to provide an opportunity for everyone to do so. Every single one of our management team members can tell stories of how the ocean changed their life for the better. That’s why we are here - to not only get you out and doing one of the most fun activities we can think of, but also to create a space for your relationship with nature, and the ocean, to grow.

We believe our customers deserve the best ocean experience possible and understand that their time with us is much more than just a lesson or rental. We understand that it's much more about a personalized ocean experience, not just the act of surfing.
Pacific Surf Co has worked for a long time with various youth groups from around Canada. Because of our location, we have been able to share our Passion for the outdoors with children and young adults, who, for various reasons, would have never been able to experience the ocean and surroundings that we enjoy every day. For most of those kids, it was and has been a life-changing experience that we have been involved in. I love my lifestyle because I know how it makes me feel.

Passion We are fiercely passionate about what we do. We strive to share this Passion with our co-workers and every person who gets in the water with us, or simply visits our shop.
Community
We are proud community members that understand we are all connected. Working with and for our community is of utmost importance. We offer surf and the ocean programs to our local school children. We are the first coastal community in Canada to have something like this in the school curriculum. We are huge advocates of water so we use rainwater for all of our gear, we recycle all our neoprene and work closely with our local Surf Rider foundation on coastal initiatives. The biggest challenge we have is recycling and the types of materials used within our industry. It’s a tough one to tackle.

We understand that our actions significantly impact our social and natural environment. We make decisions to ensure we are leaders within our community regarding important environmental issues.
