Why surf Maldives?
The Maldives is a world-class surfing destination, renowned for its uncrowded waves, offering surfers a sense of exclusivity and tranquility. The archipelago boasts a diverse range of surf breaks, from powerful lefts and rights to punchy barrels and long top-to-bottom leg burners. Beyond the waves, the Maldives offers pristine waters and stunning island landscapes, making it not only a top surf spot but an island paradise to immerse yourself in.
Glen Gaudion is an ASI-certified surf instructor with over 15 years of experience across countless countries. Having called the Maldives home for several years, he brings more than a decade of guiding expertise throughout this extraordinary island chain. As Thermal’s CEO, Glen combines a deep global wave knowledge with exceptional coaching and guiding skills. Now based in Cabo, Mexico, he continues to share his passion and expertise with surfers from around the world.
Your floating resort
This vessel accommodates up to 30 guests in 15 cabins and suites. With 7 cabins and 8 suites, each featuring sea views or port lights, the rooms are arranged across two levels: cabins on the lower deck and suites on the middle deck, offering a refined and comfortable experience at sea.
Is this just a surf trip?
This Maldives trip is more than waves, it’s an island adventure. Surf uncrowded breaks, explore hidden atolls by boat, snorkel in crystal-clear lagoons, and soak in stunning vistas. With pristine beaches and vibrant marine life, every day blends surfing, exploration, and adventure.
Will non surfers be bored?
Far from it! Each day we will always have an activity scheduled for non surfers. This may including snorkeling, wake boarding, diving or fishing. Guests can spend time in the spa facility, relax in the Jacuzzi, or simply enjoy the sunshine.
How do room allocations work?
Room allocations will be upto the group. We can assist helping determine which rooms will be best for each guest.
Should I bring my own boards?
Yes, most airlines will allow you to bring your boards over up to around 8’6 (check with your airline). Also bring spare fins, leg-ropes, wax, grub screws as there are no surf shops out there!
What’s not included?
Flights & drinks are not included.
Passport Validity
Your passport must have at least 6 months validity from the date of departure.
Will I get seasick?
As this is a very large vessel you don’t tend to notice the movement. There can be instances when crossing between atolls that it can get rough so we do recommend people bringing medication for motion sickness just incase.
What are the dates?
The surf season is from June – September. This is the rainy season but best window for swell.
How do i get there?
Guests are to fly into Male airport (MLE) in the Maldives. You will be met by boat staff and our surf guides upon your arrival and depart from the dock (Which is next to the airport) at 12pm. Please ensure that your flight lands no later than 10.30am. On our last day we will have an 8.30am checkout return to the airport/dock at 9am.
