Eddie Salazar’s Galapagos
Beyond a volcanic foreground alive with wildlife, a perfect wave peels without a surfer in sight. Welcome to the Galápagos.
Why surf Galapagos?
While the term “bucket list” can lean hyperbolic, when referring to the Galápagos, it’s simply fitting. As one of the world’s foremost destinations for wildlife viewing, and considering its significant history, there are few places in the world as remarkable as this equatorial archipelago. With a unique combination of an extraordinary ecosystem and excellent, uncrowded waves, these islands offer unmatched experiences in and out of the water.
Steward First, Surfer Second
Considering its reputation as one of the world’s most remote surf destinations, it’s unsurprising that an expert guide is the key to maximizing a visit to the Galàpagos. Meet former Ecuadorian National Surfing Champion and steward of his equatorial homelands, Eddie Salazar. With sincere passion, Eddie shares the region’s otherwise off-limits waves, along with his knowledge of the delicate biodynamic dance of this small island chain.
“Sitting in the lineup with lots of sea turtles and sea lions was an incredible experience. Eddie, my guide, was amazing…Currently the best surf trip I've had in the past 10 years.”

Your private adventure
Who’s it for
While the islands’ waves are comprised solely of reefs, it doesn’t mean that every wave is “heavy”. From fun points to freight train-like lefts and rights, the variety of waves will satisfy every level of surf hunger.
When to go
Because the swell-exposed archipelago faces both north and south, excellent surf can be found year-round. Want to strike it big? December through April is when swell energy is most consistent.
Make it yours
With no set itinerary, Eddie’s trips are truly one-of-a-kind. Let him lead you from volcanic summits to Pacific depths, where you’ll discover world-class waves, a teeming local ecosystem, and everything in between.

There is always fun waves, amazing people, and some of the best food I have ever had. If you love to be surrounded by all sorts of wildlife, then it does not get better than this surf trip. There is way more to do than just surf, so being bored is not possible. Eddie was a phenomenal host. He always has the surf dialed and keeps you busy.

Despite our flat spell (for the whole time we were there) it was an amazing trip and our host Eddie “big wave” made it all the better. A hard place to get to, but easy surfing and adventuring once you get there. Totally recommend the trip.

It was even better than expected. Generally, the people here were so friendly and helpful. The accommodations were perfectly located and exactly what I expected. The landscape and wildlife are unique. Sitting in the lineup with lots of sea turtles and sea lions who aren’t even really looking, was an incredible experience. Uncrowded, steep, pounding waves almost every surfing day. Eddie my guide was amazing, his knowledge of all the spots and the islands in general, was so helpful, thanks to him I was able to experience all the spots in solid conditions, and the one time I wasn’t so happy with the crowd in the water, he had the perfect uncrowded alternative ready. Well organized and currently the best surf trip I’ve had in the past 10 years.

To say that this was one of the best travel adventures we’ve been on, would be an understatement. From beginning to end, the entire experience was custom made for us. Eddie (Amangala Surf) was helpful, right from the start, with planning the entire trip around our needs. Even the unexpected. We had some delays in our arrival to San Cristobal and actually ended up having to fly to Baltra Island. He made sure all transportation arrangements were made. Once we finally made it to San Cristobal, our remaining six days were packed full of fun and adventure. Eddie is very knowledgeable of the land and knows all things surfing in the Galapagos. He takes the time to get to know his visitors and their specific abilities and needs. The friends we made on this journey will never be forgotten. We enjoyed the experience with an amazing group of people. We were taken to remote locations and shown sights that very few will ever see. The trip of a lifetime. Would do it all over again!
