Allan Landgren’s Dominican Republic
Endless palm trees, tropical waters, and empty, pumping lineups will have you wondering what took you so long to get here.
Why surf Dominican Republic?
Uncle Allan, Wave Hunter
It was a passion for waves that led Allan to leave a career in the US surf industry and drop into a new life in the Caribbean. Now, after nearly 20 years of guiding here, Allan has made himself an integral part of the surfing community, mentoring and shaping boards for the local kids. From bringing guests to the best waves or recommending the best nightlife, he brings a wealth of knowledge to travelers and locals alike.
“Exploring with Allan really made me realize that I was getting to see and experience the things I had imagined, versus being stuck in with a group of tourists and stuck to an itinerary. We scored epic waves!”
—Billy, United States

Pomier Caves
A series of underground caves hold indigenous paintings from the Taíno people dating back 2,000 years.

Pirated Past
The DR is home to historic fortresses like the Fort of San Felipe, built to ward off pirates in the 16th century.

Drink Up!
Visit an authentic cigar company and roll your own Caribbean or sample the grog at one of the many local rum distilleries.

Views on Views
Natural beauty is everywhere. Hike to waterfalls, snorkel in clear lagoons, or simply swing in a hammock and enjoy the view.
Where you'll sleep
Stay in hidden homes and boutique hotels matched to your needs—from lux digs with a private chef to bohemian bungalows right on the beach, your spot is guaranteed to be dialed.

Sea Horse Ranch
Offering distinctive amenities, including a first-class Equestrian Center, Tennis Club, seaside pools, and a gourmet restaurant, Sea Horse Ranch is the definition of a luxury oceanfront resort. A prime location near secluded beaches makes scoring great waves just one more added benefit.

El Encuentro Lodge
Located a short walk from the renowned Playa Encuentro, this modern surf lodge is a top choice for travelers seeking to stay near some of the DR’s most rippable waves. An airy, relaxed atmosphere and abundant amenities keep the vibe high long after the last set wave of the day.
These are just a few of the special digs available. We need to know a bit about you to match the perfect spot for you and yours.
