Tereva David and his team will welcome you into their family, sharing their deep love of Tahiti’s culture and waves. Tereva has coached the ISA Olympic Training Camps at Teahupo’o and is known for his exceptional ability to read and surf Tahiti’s waves.

Whether it’s enjoying Tereva’s favorite snack spot for poisson cru or crepes, savoring Uru (breadfruit), or grabbing a cold Hinano, you’ll be invited to indulge in the vibrant flavors of Tahitian cuisine—sweet po’e made from bananas, papayas, or pumpkins, crispy firi firi fried dough, and savory poke, a delicious dish of raw fish marinated in rich coconut milk.

Surfing
Teahupoo pulls in more swells than anywhere, but on Tahiti it’s not all scary barrels. The quality of the waves is exceptional and the waves are varied. Guides will find the best spot for you to surf your own waves between heats.

Dramatic peaks plunge to the coastline and hidden waterfalls await. Tereva’s expert guides lead you on thrilling hikes through lush valleys to secret spots that few have seen.

The fishing, diving, and snorkeling here is some of the best in the world and you could easily spend your days getting lost in the abundance of the oceans riches. The water ranges from deep sea blues to crystal clear turquoise and the reefs are teeming with life.

Serenity Meets the Sea
Welcome to you home away from home for 10 nights! The Beach Retreat in Papeari is nestled between the lush Tropical jungle and the South Pacific ocean. In this space of immense beauty, we go in search of adventure, encountering spectacles of nature and embrace the Tahitian culture through arts, music, dance and of course food with the famous Gauguin Restaurant on your door step….
What is included?
10 nights accommodation at Sublime, Airport Transfers, Hotel Breakfasts & Dinners, private Thermal boat to watch event heats/finals, meet-and-greet event with WSL athletes, guided surf trips on event laydays, surf board rental, snorkling trips and more.
What is a typical day on the trip?
Each night, we’ll get a head’s up from the WSL if heats will be running the next day. On heat days, Tereva and his crew of guides will lead the group over to the event to watch the heats from the Thermal boat in the channel. On lay-days, guests will have the opportunity. And beyond the surf, Tahiti offers a wide variety of excellent culinary and natural experiences.
Do i need to be able to surf to go? If so how well?
Both surfers & non surfers are welcome to join this trip! On lay-days, those that want to surf will be taken for surf trips to various waves in the region, with non surfers welcome to go along, explore the area, or simply relax at the hotel.
What’s not included?
Flights, lunches and resort drinks are not included. During event days you will have access to the VIP area on the island for lunches and bathrooms. Also, we don’t include travel insurance (but will gladly suggest some options for you).
Can I arrive early or stay later?
Yes (subject to avalibility). Let us know if you’d like to extend the trip and will put together the options.
What airport do I fly into?
You’ll want to book flights to Faa’a International Airport. Your accommodations is near Vaitunanna around 1hr away from the airport. Airport transfers will be arranged based on your arrival and departure times. If your flight times align with other guests, transfers may be shared.
Can I travel solo?
Absolutely! We’ll have a welcoming group, and this is a great way to connect with other surfers and WSL fans!
How many travelers will be in the group?
We’ll have a maximum of 12 traverlers, with only 6 rooms available. Come solo or bring a friend. The trip will run as planned with a minimum of 6 people. If there are fewer than 6, a reduced version of the trip will be available.
OK, how much?
The trip costs $8,995 per person based on double occupancy. If you are traveling solo (or with a companion but want separate rooms), there is a $5000 additional charge. You can cancel anytime 4 months prior to the trip’s start date for a full refund minus any transaction cost.
What are the 2026 trip dates?
The trip is scheduled for August 7 – 17 2026, with the event window running from the 8th – 18th. Most events don’t run till the last day but if you want to extend your trip please let us know.
Are non-surfers welcome on the trip?
Yes, all are welcome! Between the heats, Te Moana, and all the activities in Tahiti, non-surfers will have plenty to do!
What heats will I be able to watch?
We’ll have access to watch all event heats from the channel of Teahpu. Transfer to the boat will be leaving early
You are invited to come to as many events as you’d like!

Who is organizing this trip?
This trip is organized by Thermal. Thermal’s lead guide Tereva David and his team will ensure travelers feel at home in Tahiti, and Thermal’s traveler support team stands by to make sure that travelers have a memorable experience. The World Surf League is providing insider access to the event and helping arrange time with athletes.
