Being the founder of Surfrider’s new Senegal chapter is just one of Babacar’s many altruistic accolades. A born leader, he was raised on the sands of northern Dakar and has been a devotee of his local waves and community since his youth. Today, he continues expressing his passions through Teranga – the Senegalese spirit of hospitality and giving back – using his seaside restaurant as a cultural hub and a way to share his first love with locals and visitors alike.

When to go
With one of the largest swell windows in the world, there’s no bad time to visit. Powerful North Atlantic swells arrive from October to April, while southern energy lights up everything below Pointe des Almadies in the off-season.

There’s no minimum or maximum group size. We build this adventure around you, whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple or with a group. An array of great waves makes Dakar a great strike mission for solo travelers as well.
How well do I need to surf?
The myriad bays, points, and reefs of Dakar offer something for every kind of surfer. Whether you’re a ripper and in search of some late-drop visions or simply hoping to stand up in Senegal, Babacar and his crew have you covered.
What is typically included?
This adventure includes airport transfers, daily guiding, surf lessons if needed, and private accommodations suited to your group. Board rental is available for an additional fee, the proceeds of which are donated to the local youth.
What’s not included?
We’ve got you covered on everything but flights and meals. We can help with travel logistics if requested, and Babacar will point you to the best of everything.
What is the cancellation policy?
Terms depend on your accommodation and are set out in your trip proposal and booking confirmation. Cancel within those terms for a full refund, less transaction fees.
